Terms of Service
Last updated: September 1, 2026
Welcome to salarymcp. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the salarymcp website, REST API, and MCP server (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
salarymcp provides normalized salary benchmarks — median or mean pay by occupation and country, expressed in local currency, USD, and purchasing power (PPP) — harmonized from official public statistics and offered as a paid API and MCP server.
2. Early access
The Service is currently in early access. Features, endpoints, coverage, and pricing may change, and availability is not guaranteed. We may modify or discontinue parts of the Service during this period.
3. Accounts and API keys
You are responsible for keeping your API key confidential and for all activity under it. Notify us at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized use. Do not share keys or use another user's key.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to: (a) exceed your plan's rate or quota limits, or circumvent metering; (b) resell, redistribute, or sublicense the Service's harmonized data as a competing dataset; (c) reverse engineer the Service; (d) use the Service unlawfully or to infringe any third party's rights; or (e) misrepresent the data's provenance or its comparability caveats.
5. Plans, billing and cancellation
Paid plans are billed through Stripe on a recurring (monthly) basis. "Founding" pricing, where offered, applies while you maintain an active subscription during early access. You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the paid period. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable. Applicable taxes may be added.
6. Data accuracy and no professional advice
The underlying data comes from official public sources and is provided on an "as is" basis. Harmonization — occupation crosswalks, currency and PPP normalization, and temporal uplift — is best-effort and carries the comparability notes returned with each response. The Service does not provide financial, legal, tax, or HR advice and must not be relied upon as the sole basis for compensation, hiring, or other decisions. We do not warrant accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose.
7. Intellectual property
The Service — including the API, MCP tools, occupation crosswalks, harmonization logic, and website — is owned by salarymcp. Underlying source statistics remain the property of their respective providers (see Attribution). We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service in accordance with these Terms and your plan.
8. Attribution and third-party sources
Data is derived from public statistics including Eurostat, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), the European Central Bank (ECB), the World Bank, and Brazil's RAIS. The terms and attribution requirements of those providers apply to the underlying data.
9. Third-party services
We rely on third parties to operate the Service, including Stripe (payments), Cloudflare (hosting and CDN), and email/form providers. Your use may also be subject to their terms.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, salarymcp will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the three months preceding the claim.
12. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service. You may stop using the Service at any time.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. Material changes are reflected by the "Last updated" date; continued use after changes means you accept them.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Brazil, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute shall be submitted to the competent courts of the operator's domicile in Brazil, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
